The Four Walls Movie

“The Four Walls” is a mini movie series about choices, decisions, consequences and redemption.

Grace is a young mother of a 12 and 17y/o, who struggles with the pain of dark, deep rooted family secrets. Her life choices have caused her to suffer from poor decisions in her desperate search to be loved, and she is currently in an unhealthy, violent relationship.

Isaac, who is the father of Grace’s 12 y/o son tries desperately to form a bond with his child in which he was absent 7 years of the young boy’s life due to a prison sentence for selling drugs. Isaac has moved on from his former criminal lifestyle and has a beautiful new fiance’. Although he tries his best to maintain a brand new life of following God and handling business the legal, way, Grace and her violent boyfriend JD seem to test him at every cost.

Toxic co-parenting; bitterness; mental illness; childhood/adulthood PTSD; unhealthy/toxic relationships; domestic violence; gang/gun violence; drugs; music industry toxic deals; down-low lifestyles; issues in the church and so many more situations that distract us from living the life that God intended for us here on earth play major roles in each of the many characters of this riveting series!

This is much more than ‘just another movie’…this is an eye-opening, life changing compilation of serious situations that can help someone see themselves in one of the characters with the hopes that they will allow God to change their heart, and live a life that is healthy and free from guilt, shame and the bondage of toxic lifestyles.

CAST OF CHARACTERS

Grace Marie Scott: Grace is the 33 year old beautiful, feisty, ‘ghetto bougie’ at home hairdresser. Mother of 12 y/o Malachi ‘Mali” and 17 y/o Angel. Grace never had a healthy relationship with her mother, and she barely speaks to her older sister who moved down south. Grace never knew who her father was. She got pregnant at the age of 16 and dropped out of high school so her mom kicked her out of the house. Grace is very strong and resourceful with a hustler’s mentality. Her many schemes to get ‘that bag’ sometimes get her into more trouble  than she bargains for, but her slick mouth and irresistible charm usually save her. Grace struggles with deep rooted trust issues and insecurities due to being rejected by her family growing up. She always felt like an outcast. She seeks love and attention from the wrong types of men but really longs for a secure and healthy relationship. She never got over the breakup with her son’s father which causes her to be very bitter in spite of her current relationship with a drug dealer who is 8 years younger than her.  Grace loves her children but places drama,social media and her ‘non’ love life ahead of their needs. She is also harboring an ugly secret that will change her life significantly if anyone ever found out. Grace believes in God but refuses to attend church because of who she refers to as the ‘phony benchwarmers.’ She talks to Him often but lacks the listening ear to hear or the Faith to help her breakthrough all of her barriers.

Isaac Thomas: Isaac is the 34 y/o father of Grace’s 12 y/o son Mali. Isaac got locked up for possession of drugs with the intent to sell when Mali was just 3 years old. He was sentenced the maximum time of 16 years, but by God’s Grace and Mercy was released after doing 7. Isaac strongly believes the reason for his early release was because while he was in prison he turned his life over to Jesus and became a Christian. He vowed that he would never ever turn back to his old ways, but lately has been tried and tested in several areas. His soft spot is his son Mali in which he carries much guilt for the 7 years that were lost while he was in prison. Grace uses that guilt as a trap to try and get what she wants from Isaac who is now working nights at a warehouse to earn an honest living. Isaac has found his soulmate and is engaged to marry her which causes even more tension with trying to co-parent with Grace as well as dealing with a bad decision he made that can cost him to lose the Blessing God has sent him.  

Leonard “Tron” Roberts: Leonard Roberts is a 22 yr old Male rapper known famously as Tron. Tron became successful after his hit song “Trappin” went viral on Tik Tok quickly making him an overnight sensation.

Angel Lucia Scott: Angel is the beautiful and very wise 17 y/o African-American daughter of Grace who is a Senior in High School. She’s a very talented singer and songwriter but hides her Gifts due to her mom’s constant nagging for her to become a hairdresser after she graduates. Angel barely enjoys doing her own hair let alone somebody else’s! This causes Angel and her mom to bump heads very often. Her dream is to go away to college and become an Entertainment Lawyer so she can help Artists who are being taken advantage of by predatory record labels. Angel is really close to Tron and she absolutely despises Lucas King, the owner of Sin City Records where Tron has landed a record deal. Angel tries very hard to help her brother Mali stay focused and out of trouble, but she often gets angry because she feels  her mom puts too much responsibility on her. Angel is also dealing with the pain of not knowing who her dad is. Each time she asks her mom, Grace catches a MAJOR attitude and tells her ‘He died! I’m the only daddy you’re ever gonna need!”

Malachi “Mali” Thomas: Mali is Isaac and Grace’s 12 y/o son. Mali is a smart kid but easily influenced by rap music and the neighborhood gang members. He loves his dad but is constantly being reminded of the many years he was absent from his life whenever his mom gets upset. Mali has been used by his mom to manipulate his dad and has had to hear her version of why his dad does not come around more often. Mali absolutely despises his mom’s boyfriend JB and has an idea that he is hitting her, but his young mind is being tossed and turned in so many different directions that he begins to gravitate more towards the negative and dangerous street life. He’s in danger of being expelled from school and though his big sister tries to keep him in line, Mali chooses to do his own thing. Deep down Mali just wants to spend more time with his dad and for his mom to pay more attention to him at home. Mali is one decision away from events that will change the course of his entire young life.

Bishop Lionel Charles: is a 50yr old Male who is the Pastor of Greater Faith Cathedral Church. Lionel is originally from the south but migrated North to answer the call of God on his life

First Lady Leila Charles: is a 48 yr old Female who is the wife of Bishop Lionel Charles and the First Lady of Greater Faith Cathedral Church. Leila was a licensed psychiatrist who put her career on hold to better serve as her husband’s first lady.

Lakeisha Grant: Lakeisha is a 26 yr old hairdresser, the ex girlfriend & baby mama to rapper Tron. Lakeisha and Tron met in high school at a party and began dating at a very young age, but after the success of Tron’s hit song and the new found fame that came along with it, it eventually drove a wedge between the two. The only interest they now share are their two kids.

Nikki Roberts: Nikki Roberts is a 10yr old African-American Female who is the oldest daughter of Tron & Lakeisha Grant. Nikki is a beautiful yet shy young girl who finds her confidence in her love for acting and singing.

Nadine Roberts: Nadine (Nae Nae) Roberts is a 7yr old Female who is the youngest daughter of Tron & Lakeisha Grant. Nadine or Nae Nae as her family calls her is the beautiful, comical yet very sassy younger sister.

Rudesha: Rudesha is a 25 yr old Female hairdresser and best friend to Lakeisha Grant. Rudesha is Lakeisha’s spicy & witty friend. She matches Lakeisha’s energy which tends to bring fun yet a lot of drama wherever they go. 

Officer Johnny Bailey: Officer Bailey AKA ‘Johnny NO Barz’ (nicknamed by the neighborhood kids because he SWEARS he can out rap everyone) is the OLDER, single, funny and ROUND neighborhood patrolman who has a heart of gold but can sometimes get sidetracked from his ‘duty to serve and protect’ the community. Officer Bailey grew up in the neighborhood and joined the police force after he tore his ACL playing college basketball. He gets stuck in his former time-capsule of college fame at times (usually the wrong times), but he genuinely wants to help the kids succeed. Officer Bailey is set to retire at the end of the year, but little does he know that the events about to take place are going to change his life forever.

Jacob ‘JD’ Dolan: JD is Grace’s extremely toxic 25 y/o Mixed race boyfriend. JD is the poster child for anger management classes but is able to put up enough of a front (or so he thinks) to hide his violent tendencies from others. JD preys off of Grace’s insecurities and her need to be loved so he can freeload and avoid facing his own ugly truths. JD has no job, sells drugs and is a horrible role model for Grace’s 2 children. He often gets into it with Isaac who strongly disapproves of JD being around his son, but is a little intimidated by Isaac’s former street reputation so he knows when to pump the brakes when dealing with him.

Lucas King: Lucas King is a 40yr old CEO of Sin City Records which rapper Tron is signed to. Lucas is a no nonsense type of guy who is all about his money and ways to make more of it. Lucas allegedly has ties to the mafia and a few gangs in his city, and it is believed that he keeps a few cops on payroll as well.

Miss Cherry Lynn Standsbury: Miss Cherry is a ‘40/50 somethin’ y/o frumpy neighborhood nosey news reporter. She knows EVERYTHING about EVERYONE who ever set foot in that neighborhood and swears that she ‘aint no gossip’! Miss Cherry was (and still is) a hot mess in her younger days. She tells many stories as she sits in Grace’s kitchen getting her done about her experiences as a “stripper’(nobody believes her)and how all the men in the neighborhood wanted her. Though Miss Cherry is a big ol mess in a dress, she serves as an ear to listen and a shoulder to cry on for Grace’s 2 children. There is also a long time rumor that Miss Cherry and Officer Bailey had a thing going on back in the day, but neither one will admit it. Miss Cherry carries a world of life knowledge due to a secret past, and also has knowledge of the things of The Lord and she struggles with forgiving herself so she can allow God to truly use her. 

Faith Marie Charles: Faith is the 34 y/o daughter of Pastor and First Lady Charles and the fiancé of Isaac Thomas. Faith sings in the choir and tries her best to be a good Christian and an encouragement for Isaac but her patience is usually tested by her fiancé’s messy and ghetto baby mama. Faith is struggling with her love for Isaac, and her absolute disgust for how his son’s mother acts. Although Faith has never met Grace, she’s heard many rumors of Grace bad-mouthing her. Faith is a Christian, but she definitely is not no punk. She keeps her composure because she does not want to disrespect God or her fiance, but everyone has a breaking point. Faith also is a very talented songwriter. She just recently landed a paid position at the local radio station in the marketing department, but has plans to start her own Christian record label after she makes the right connections. Faith is Isaac’s ‘rock’ and they have a relationship that many love to envy. Especially Grace… But if anyone ever knew the secret they were keeping, would they still feel the same way?

Detective Benjamin “Benny D’ DeCarlo: A seasoned no-nonsense homicide detective who is very well aware of all the corrupt business in the streets and on the force. Det. Benny D really tries hard to keep his area safe from the violence that seems to erupt out of nowhere, but his mental health is starting to affect the way he handles his cases. His many years of seeing dead bodies and having to be the bearer of bad news to the deceased families is beginning to slowly creep up on him. The most recent shooting in his area may very well be the straw that breaks this hardened detective’s back!

Pastor Sherwood Green:  Bishop Charle’s youth pastor and College friend who seems to have to keep the Bishop’s head on straight in matters of his heart

First Lady Branasia “Lady B” Green: Pastor Green’s street-wise wife who helps out with the children and youth ministry and has a deep passion to nurture due to not being able to bear children of her own. Lady B was heavy into rappin and singing when she first met her husband, but lost that passion when she realized she’d never be able to bear children. Lady B has a strong discernment from God of people’s true motives that sometimes causes her to act first and ask questions later. This is a thorn in her ministry to heal as she can come off as judgemental.

Dr. Jeremy Ricketts: Chief trauma surgeon at the local hospital who has seen his fair share of gang shootings over his 25 year career.

Jakai “Juke” Dolan: JD’s younger cousin who is part of his team of young savages that sell drugs, rob and beef with their rivals from the other 3 sides of town. The gangs motto is “Us against everyone!”

Auntie Vee: Jukes mother whose house is a hangout for her gang banging nephews and friends. Aunt Vee had Juke when she was 15 and lacks the authority to properly guide her son, and usually sits around drinking and smokin weed with everyone. Aunt Vee also has a daughter 2 years younger than Juke who hangs in the streets on the other side of town where her nephews are beefin with a rival gang.

Dulce Stella Dolan: Dulce is Jakai’s younger fast, and manipulative sister. She was the product of a one night stand and hates being around her neighborhood. Most of the females are very jealous of Dulce’s exotic features and the young boys go crazy to get her attention. Dulce is currently dating a member of a gang who her family has MAJOR beef with. She eventually is presented with having to make a very dangerous move that can cost her boyfriend his life…as well as her own!
